Take a moment and listen to what you hear in the media today, see as you scroll on Instagram, have conversations with someone in a random coffee shop, as human beings, we are constantly promoting and driven by this idea of love. It is said you can find love through relationships, in yourself, anywhere from money, sex, success, fame, fortune, sacrifice and satisfaction.

We’re promoting this idea of settling for a surface level, temporary, superficial love rather than being willing to chase after the one who is love himself.

1 John 4: 7-12

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.

10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.”

Loving one another is important but... who in fact is at the root of love? In today’s world conversations, we tend to put ourselves in the center of our own finite world. There is so much more that God wants to reveal of himself to us. There is grace, joy, peace, hope, truth and life everlasting that has been freely offered to us. All we need to do is chose to say yes to him, yes to his infinite love. This love is not to be kept to ourselves, we are to share it with everyone for the cause of Christ. Freely extend grace upon grace, faithfully walk in truth, give praise and thanks with the joy of our salvation, peacefully rest and breathe in his presence, hope in the redemptive freedom and live with a Jesus Centered mindset.

Saying yes is not just a once in a life time commitment, it requires you to commit each day to the lord, everything you do, all that you say, everyone you love, each relationship, you must surrender it all to him. He is the author and the creator. So let go, let him lead you to where he wants you to go, who he wants you to be and who he wants you to love.

1 John 4: 13-21

13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

19 We love because he first loved us.

20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

Only in Christ are you truly and fully made complete by his love. There is no fear in love, love is...

1 Corinthians 13: 4-10

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.”

You are loved!

Let go and let him love you.

Happy Valentine’s Day friends :)
