Visio Divina Excerpt

. . .

The ocean was like a sea of glass, completely still and you could see straight through to the sand. Just before dawn, the entire beach was tinted blue. As we lay down our towels, upon the horizon, a sliver of light was born. There we stood in the overcast awaiting the sun to be lifted and shine. The light began to contour the clouds into shapes, extinguishing the tint of blue. These puffs of white were scattered throughout the sky to convey a vast canvas of His grace. To the right, painted skies of pink, orange, green, gold, and purple too! To our left was a wall of clouds that the light could not penetrate. Within the clouds sparked glimpses of lightning and rumbles of thunder. We saw the rain from afar backlit by these cotton candy skies. Then the sun slowly began to split the sky. In the mystical beauty of the morning, we gazed in wonder at His breathtaking masterpiece. We inhaled His mere salty sent in peace and rest.

At this moment, the Lord reminded me of Revelations 4, where John attests to the beauties of heaven. “After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, and before the throne, there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.” Thank you Father for this glimpse of heaven!
