I made a candle this past week end. The instructions for you to make your own are listed below;
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT YOU MUST DO BE FORE YOU BEGIN IS TO GLUE A WICK (you can buy these at Walmart, they come in a little bag) DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE JAR USING A HOT GLUE GUN.
- In order for the candle to have some sort of scent, I mixed an essential oil, Ocean mist with around a cup of granulated blue wax.
- I then poured the granulated wax into the jar I had propped on its side so that the wax color would be at a slant for a creativity factor.
- After you pour the wax into the jar, you must pack it down! It doesn't stick to the glass but it stays on its side enough to do the other side.
- Fourthly, you take a different color of granulated wax and mix again with a few drops of essential oil, Ocean scent.
- Tilt the jar to its other side then pour it into the jar.
- Pack it all down forming two triangles and the second color can fill the jar all the way until full, otherwise you could repeat the first 3 points applying a smaller amount of granulated wax to finish it off.
- At last, clip off the excess wick to make it level with the top of the jar so that the lid will fit on it.
- Finally, you light the candle, but first melt the wax around the top so that it may harden.
